Multiple Year Contracts

Multiple Year Contracts appointments are a form of fixed-term renewable appointments made for more than one year.  This type of appointment can reward academic staff members who are supported on soft money which cannot support a rolling horizon or indefinite appointment, but whose performance level merits use of a longer-term appointment.  A multiple-year appointment does not exclude an individual from a rolling-horizon or indefinite appointment at a later date.

For Multiple Year Contract appointment request, please provide:

1. Individual’s name
2. Appointment title, and years of service in the department and college
3. Source of funding for the position
4. Duration of funding
5. Draft letter to employee (See sample letter)
