Interview Expense Reimbursement for Unclassified Staff



Policy

CALS Dean's office will contribute up to $1,500 for interview expenses of each of three candidates for faculty positions. Departments are responsible for covering the remainder of the interview expenses for faculty positions and all interview expenses for academic staff positions.

Regardless of the source of interview expense reimbursement, University System policy requires the Dean's offices to approve the reimbursement for interview expenses prior to the interview. The system and campus policies require that the following factors be considered in determining whether it is appropriate to provide reimbursement: job market supply and demand for the skills of the prospective employee, incentive for candidates to interview for the position, and other factors unique to the department or school.

Procedure

Prior to interview, the interview expense form must be completed and approved by the Office of Human Resources; the original form will be returned to the department.

The approved form must be attached to the travel expense form when submitted for reimbursement.
