Furlough Information: LTE



To comply with the mandated furloughs for LTE employees, CALS is required to implement a plan to satisfy the furlough requirement.

LTEs are classified group 9
Number of hours worked are to be reduced by 3.065%

General principles:

  • LTEs may not exceed 1,011 in a 12 month period (which is a 3.065% reduction over the maximum hours they may work in a position)
  • We recognize that reductions for LTEs is very difficult to manage due to the nature of LTE positions
  • All LTEs need to reduce their hours work by 3.065%
  • LTE budget reduction is expected to be based on October 2008 LTE payroll data
  • Units need to track each LTE and document how/when hours were reduced to meet the 3.065% requirement
  • Units need to maintain records for each LTE detailing their furlough dates/amounts to meet reporting requirements
