- Contact your Department Administrator to begin the process of hiring an employee from outside the United States
- Your contact at International Faculty and Staff Services for H1B Visas is Amparo Chulvi-Smith,

- Permanent Residence requests are prepared by the employee and filed by Deborah Ahlstedt,
262-1742, dahlstedt@ohr.wisc.edu, in the International Faculty and Staff Office.
- IFSS does not give legal advice. If the employee needs legal services regarding his/her status, he/she needs to contact an immigration lawyer.
J-1 Scholars
- J-1 Scholars are post docs from outside the United States. Kim Maday,
265-5114, kmaday@ohr.wisc.edu, will be the individual that will assist you with these requests.
- If a J-1 Scholar plans to travel outside of the United States, he/she MUST contact the IFSS office at least 2 weeks prior to the travel departure.
