International Internships Provide
Global Job Training & College Credit
A variety of international working and learning experiences are available. Students can arrange internships through campus resources or on their own. Below is a list of current international internships that are available, and new opportunities will be added as we find them. Students are able to apply internship credits toward the completion of their degree requirements.

Current International Internship Opportunities
Research in Iceland
Undergraduate students in Limnology, Agronomy, Entomology, Forest and Wildlife Ecology, Conservation Biology (preferably between their junior and senior years) who are currently attending UW-Madison. The applicant should have a strong interest in interdisciplinary field biology.
Savia Biotech
Savia Biotech in Santa Maria, Spain is offering an internship opportunity for students majoring in Chemistry, Genetics, Microbiology, Biology, Agriculture, Bioinformatics. Savia does research in new methods of genetic and molecular diagnosis and research. Savia’s research includes Seed Varietal purity and quality control, Genetic Mapping, DNA Fingerprinting, Identification and development of molecular markers and DNA computer analysis and sequencing.
United Nations Development Programme
The Global Environment Facility's Small Grants Programme aims to deliver global environmental benefits in the GEF Focal Areas of biodiversity conservation, climate change mitigation, protection of international waters, prevention of land degradation (primarily desertification and deforestation), and elimination of persistent organic pollutants through community-based approaches. Internship opportunities are available for students studying Biodiversity Conservation, Renewable Energy, Sustainable Agriculture, Land Use or Forestry.
Grameen Bank
Grameen Bank (GB) has reversed conventional banking practice by removing the need for collateral and created a banking system based on mutual trust, accountability, participation and creativity. GB provides credit to the poorest of the poor in rural Bangladesh. Grameen is offering 6-week customizable internships in Dhaka, Bangladesh and rural areas.
Khorana Program: Research In India
Undergraduate students majoring in the life sciences or engineering who are currently attending UW-Madison. The applicant should have a strong interest in research and will value the opportunity to travel to India to interact with and learn about Indian culture.
Summer Oxford and Cambridge Research Experience (SCORE)
Undergraduate students in the biological sciences (preferably between their junior and senior years) who are currently attending UW-Madison. The applicant should have a strong interest in a career in research.
International Research Experience for Students: Bangkok, Thailand
Participating undergraduate students will spend ten weeks during the summer in a biological sciences research laboratory at Mahidol University in Bangkok, Thailand conducting full-time research in microbiology, microbial genetics and/or molecular biology.
Mahindra and Mahindra, Mumbai India
Undergraduate students in agronomy, soil science, integrated pest management, ag education or, ag engineering. The applicant should have a strong interest in agriculture and rural development and value the opportunity to travel to India to interact with and learn about Indian culture.
