Trinidad & Tobago: University of the West Indies
Program Timing: Students enroll in a one-credit, fall semester seminar course titled Life Science Communications 375 Special Topics - Trinidad. The student spends the following Spring Semester abroad at the University of the West Indies.

Program Description:
The 375 Special Topics seminar covers broad topic areas of culture and life in Trinidad. Speakers discuss wild life ecology, sociology, and religion in Trinidad and Tobago.
Students are required to prepare and present one substantial paper during the fall semester seminar class.
During the spring semester abroad, students will conduct an independent research project on a topic of their choice. Previous topics include: endangered species, erosion control, examining the habits of bats, working with children who have a genetic defects, working for a Trinidad newspapers, examining national land use issues, and studying Trinidad's Emperor Zoo.
The University of the West Indies Faculty of Agriculture and Natural Sciences (ANS) is widely recognized for its work in the tropics with special emphasis on tropical agriculture, food, natural resources, and the environment. Much of the work in these areas is done at the ANS field station in St. Joseph.
