The goal of these grants is to promote collaboration among investigators conducting epidemiological studies that aim to identify environmental risk factors for autism, including gene/environment interactions. Autism Speaks invites proposals that involve a multisite approach to better explain the role of environmental risk factors and/or gene/environment interactions in risk for ASD. It is anticipated that the information gained will provide guidance for the identification of risk factors that may be modified in order to reduce the risk for ASD
