- Program Description
The Minority Scholar in Cancer Research Award consists of $1,800 in financial support to offset the costs of registration, travel, and subsistence for participation in American Association for Cancer Research (AACR) Annual Meetings and Special Conferences. These awards are intended to enhance the education and training of minority researchers and increase the visibility and recognition of minorities involved in cancer research.
Candidates must be:
- From a racial/ethnic minority group that is traditionally underrepresented in cancer and biomedical research, as defined by the National Cancer Institute (African-American/Black, Hispanic/ Latino, Native American, Native Hawaiian/Pacific Islander, or Alaska Native)
- Full-time graduate students, medical students or residents, clinical or postdoctoral fellows, or junior faculty members
- Citizens or permanent residents of the United States or Canada
