WERF is seeking proposals for research that would demonstrate or advance any processes or practices with potential for energy recovery. Proposals may include research scopes which advance Anaerobic Digestion for energy/heat recovery, or further other innovative and emerging energy recovery approaches or technologies, including biosolids management practices. WERF is collaborating with the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) to co-fund this research. Successful teams will be able to demonstrate the relevance of the proposed research to New York state as well as to the greater water environment sector. Total funding available is $200,000. WERF anticipates maximizing research with these funds through collaborations and potentially, multiple awards.
