The AACR Judah Folkman Fellowship for Angiogenesis Research is open to physician-scientists in training with a medical degree or a combined M.D./Ph.D. working in a mentored position at an academic, medical or research institution within the United States. Applicants must be within the first five years of their training at the start of the grant term. Proposed research projects are restricted to basic, clinical, translational or epidemiological studies that substantially advance the field of angiogenesis and/or anti-angiogenic therapy research in cancer.
The fellowship provides a two-year grant of $90,000 ($45,000 per year) to support the salary and benefits of the fellow while working on a mentored angiogenesis cancer research project. A partial amount of funds, up to 25 percent of the total grant, may be designated for non-personnel research expenses, such as equipment and research/laboratory supplies.
