As part of an exchange agreement, the Rheinische Friedrich Wilhelms University at Bonn will offer one 2012-13 academic year award and several short term awards to University of Wisconsin-Madison advanced graduate students who wish to follow an independent research program under the guidance of a senior faculty member. Applicants should be enrolled in a University of Wisconsin-Madison doctoral program.Applications: A complete application for either type of award consists of: a two-page summary statement describing the research to be pursued at Bonn; an up to date curriculum vitae; a letter of support from the major advisor endorsing the candidacy, plus one other letter of support; undergraduate and graduate transcripts (these can be copies of official transcripts as long as they are clearly legible. The UW-Madison Student Record is not the official transcript and cannot be used). These documents must be submitted together; do not have items sent separately. The application deadline for the academic year and short term awards is Tuesday, April 10, 2012 by 12:00 PM.
