The AACR Gertrude B. Elion Cancer Research Award is open to tenure-track scientists at the level of assistant professor who are in the first five years of a faculty appointment (at the start of the grant term). Proposed research projects may focus on research in cancer etiology, diagnosis, treatment or prevention (basic, translational or clinical cancer research).
The award provides a one-year grant of $75,000 for direct research expenses; which may include the salary and benefits of the grant recipient, postdoctoral or clinical research fellows and/or research assistants, equipment, research/laboratory supplies, and limited travel for the grant recipient.
