Awards are intended to support the independent research of exceptional young faculty who are expected to make innovative and high-impact contributions in the areas of biochemistry, cell biology, genetics, immunology, neuroscience, pharmacology, or related areas in chemistry, medicine, or the biological sciences. The Searle Scholar Awards are normally $300,000 ($100,000 per year for three years).
