TBA (last known deadline was January 10, 2012)
The goal of the Program is to expand and strengthen the pool of outstanding junior investigators in the field of lymphatic research. The awards will support investigators who have recently received their doctorates, a critical point in career development when young scientists choose their lifelong research focus. LRF, a not-for-profit organization, is committed to promoting and supporting basic and translational research, and to fostering an interdisciplinary field of research that will result in improved understanding and/or advances in the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of lymphatic diseases, lymphedema and related disorders. Projects in lymphoma or leukemia research are currently outside the scope of this program. Funding is available for two-year fellowships from $82,000-95,000.
Applicants must hold a Ph.D. and/or M.D. or equivalent degree and have completed no more than three years of full-time postdoctoral research experience by July 1, 2012. The research project must be conducted under the supervision of a mentor who is an established investigator with an active and productive research program. Eligibility is NOT limited to those investigators with past experience in lymphatic research; international applications are welcome.
