This award was established to create an incentive to excel in teaching, and to emphasize the importance of better teaching. A committee of five is to select "the University of Wisconsin faculty member(s) who contribute(s) most to the instruction of Engineering students." Full-time faculty in the College of Engineering are eligible, as well as faculty in the departments of Biological Systems Engineering, Chemistry, Computer Sciences, Geology and Geophysics, Mathematics, Physics, and Statistics. Previous recipients of this award are ineligible.
