The Hartwell Foundation Individual Biomedical Research Award will provide financial support to stimulate discovery in early-stage biomedical research that will benefit children.
The University of Wisconsin-Madison has been selected as one of the 10 research institutions to compete for this award. The Hartwell Foundation requires each selected research institution to hold an internal open competition to identify four nominees, based upon application requirements set forth by the Foundation.
Proposals should be from appropriate areas of basic and applied life sciences, principally limited to medicine and biomedical engineering, and consistent with the values of the Hartwell Foundation. Proposals should reflect relevance in terms of potential benefits to children. The Foundation will only consider proposals in biomedical research. The Foundation will not consider, for example, research in social science, psychology, ecology, environmental impacts, anthropology, or botany.
