The AACR-Aflac, Inc. Career Development Award for Pediatric Cancer Research represents a joint effort to encourage and support junior faculty who are in the first 4 years of a faculty appointment (at the start of the grant term) to conduct pediatric cancer research and establish successful career paths in this field. The research proposed for funding may be basic, translational, clinical or epidemiological in nature and must have direct applicability and relevance to pediatric cancer. The Award provides $100,000 over two years ($50,000 per year) for direct research expenses, which may include salary and benefits of the grant recipient, postdoctoral or clinical research fellows, and/or research assistants, research/laboratory supplies and equipment.
