Interim Dean Irwin Goldman
Irwin Goldman is Interim Dean of the UW-Madison College of Agricultural and Life Sciences.
Goldman is also a professor in the Department of Horticulture. He earned his B.S. in Agricultural Science from the University of Illinois, his M.S. in Crop Science from North Carolina State University, and his Ph.D. in Plant Breeding and Plant Genetics from the University of Wisconsin. He was also a Postdoctoral Research Associate in Maize Genetics at the University of Illinois.
Goldman joined the faculty at Madison in 1992. His teaching responsibilities include two courses in plant breeding and genetics and a course on vegetable crops. Goldman is responsible for breeding and genetic research of cross pollinated vegetable crops-- primarily carrot, onion and beet.
