Transitional Advising & Outreach Services (TAOS)

TAOS supports prospective, new, and continuing undergraduates to successfully transition into and within CALS through a variety of outreach, advising, and academic support initiatives.

Individual Advising: Unsure of your major or your path at UW-Madison? Meet with a TAOS advisor to explore the range of CALS majors, select classes, learn about our resources and opportunities, and strategize for academic success.

CALS Transfer Workshops: Decided on a CALS major? Visit with the advisor in the major you intend to declare and then register to attend a group CALS transfer workshop.

Transfer workshops are held during the academic year starting, mid-September through the end of November and again early-February thru mid-April. They are held on Mondays and Tuesdays starting at 3:30pm.

March dates: 7, 13, 28
April dates: 3, 11, 17, 24, 25

NOTE: When signing up for a transfer session, please write down your date as soon as you sign up. There will be no email reminder of your date sent to you. If you have any questions, or need to re-schedule your transfer session please contact us at CALS Academic Affairs at 262-3003, or email at least 24 hours before your session.

All students attending a CALS transfer workshop MUST bring a completed major declaration form with advisor signatures. Students who fail to obtain and bring a completed form will be unable to attend the workshop.
