The WiscList service will be unavailable Sunday, October 21st from 8am till 10 am for a scheduled application upgrade. There will be no access to the administrative interface or the archives/forums interface during the outage. In addition, while no mail will be lost, mail sent to lists during the outage will be held for delivery when the service is re-established. All lists in the form <listname>@lists.wisc.edu or <listname>@lists.services.wisc.edu will be impacted.

The above outage will be used to upgrade the WiscList application. The upgrade will provide performance improvements and resolution to some outstanding issues including the problem with break of personal digital signatures.

We have noted no functional changes with the upgraded application, but as with any upgrade, please test any custom processes you have that may make use of the WiscList service in any way after the scheduled outage. This would include embedded html for the purposes of subscribing list members.

On Sunday, October 21, the ONYX server will be down during its regular maintenance window, from 6:00 – 10:00 a.m., for updates to the operating system and to have additional memory added.

Many campus services will be affected, including:

- DARS
- DoIT Website
- DoIT Catalog
- ISIS central communication Web site
- Classified Human Resources Information System (CHRIS)
- Position Descriptions (PD)
- Wisconsin Union Event Calendar
- Any Web site hosted by DOIT Web Hosting that uses UWP1 as the database
