You can change your 3270 password through either the TPX system (F2) or General Administrative System (F6) from the main 3270 menu.
It is recommended that you use TPX to change your password for the following reasons:
TPX will let you know when your password is going to expire.
TPX tells you if your password is expired or if your password is suspended.
TPX will also let you know if you have the wrong logon ID or wrong password.
Log onto the TPX system from the main 3270 menu by selecting F2.
Enter your login ID and hit TAB.
Enter your current password and hit TAB.
Enter your new password and hit TAB.
Re-enter your new password and hit ENTER. You should get a message that your password was successfully changed.
You can then press ENTER and the TPX menu is displayed. You can choose F3 from this menu to get to the General Administrative System (PROD IMS).
If you're already logged on to ADMIN, press F3 to log off.
At the main 3270 menu, select ADMIN (F6).
Press ENTER on the Info screen.
At the SIGNON screen, press F1 to change password.
Type your 3270 logon ID.
Press TAB and type your current password.
Press TAB and type your new password.
Press ENTER. You should get a message that your password was successfully updated.
NOTE: The mainframe will require a password change every 90 days.
