Prior to joining the team at the Spooner Ag Research Station, John had worked for 18 years with the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources in the areas of forestry, wildlife, and water regulations and zoning. He has a B.S. degree from UW-Stevens Point in Wildlife Biology.
