Michel Baldin grew up on a farm at South Brazil that focused on the raising of dairy and beef cattle and grapes for making wine as well. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in 2010 and as well as a Masters of Science in 2012 in Animal Science from Santa Catarina State University, Brazil.

During college, Michel was involved with several dairy sheep nutrition trials serving as a Research Assistant. His Masters Degree work focused on lipid supplementation for lactating small ruminants by evaluating the performance, milk composition and energy balance of lactating goats receiving conjugated linoleic acid (CLA) in their diet.
