The College of Agricultural and Life Sciences (CALS) computer lab is located in the basement of the Animal Sciences building, rooms 145, 149 and 150. The lab is open and free of charge (except for laser printing) to all University students, faculty and staff.

The facility has two major computing components: a Hewlett-Packard minicomputer, and a PC and Macintosh microcomputer lab. The CALS Computer Facility is managed by Peter Crump (263-2816) and Tom Tabone (263-3942). An operator/consultant is also on duty at all times to help assist users (263-2817). The computer facility works in close conjunction with the CALS Statistical Consulting Facility (263-4946).

What's New

Large-format printer! The lab now has a Canon imagePROGRAF W6200 large-fornat inkjet printer. It prints high-quality images up to 24" wide at exceptionally fast speeds. Mailing tubes are also available for purchase to safely transport you posters or banners.

Portable Projector! The lab now has a ViewSonic portable XGA Projector that can be checked out. Call to see if it is available or reserve it if you know you would like to use it in advance.

Laptops! Want to use a light, portable laptop for a few days? The CALS Lab is now checking out Dell 700m laptops for up to 3 days! Just bring your student ID and another from of photo ID over to the lab. The machines are checked out on a 'first come, first served' basis. Call 263-2817 if you want to make sure one is availabale before stopping by.

Virus Protection: All students can get their own copy of Norton AntiVirus FREE to install on their home computer. Download it here, burn it to a CD and install it on your home computer.
