CALS Career Services is setting aside today for you to get organized for the 10 Days of Career Services and the Spring Career and Internship Fair January 31st from 4:30-8 p.m. at the Kohl Center. Today’s theme is “Prepare for the Career Fair Week!”
Today you should take the time to look over your resume and make additions or changes that may have changed since last semester (don’t forget about your GPA). Having an up-to-date resume is very important when handing them out to employers at the career fair.
You should look at BuckyNet and get information about the employers that are coming to the Career Fair as well as those that are interviewing the day after. There are bio’s of all the attending companies and supplementary information is available. You can do this by logging into BuckyNet and clicking on the events tab and going to the 2012 Spring Career and Internship Fair. Here you can browse employer websites and determine if they would be a good fit for your major. You can also use BuckyNet to find the jobs these employers will be interviewing for.
Use today to look at the workshops and events you would like to attend. Our calendar is at today.wisc.edu and then you need to search for CALS Career Services. Here you can find more information about certain workshops and several amazing “walk-in” events that are all in place to help you succeed.
Today is a day of preparation before the work really begins. This preparation could make or break the rest of your 10 Days of Career Services and get you on the right track. So today, make sure you prepare for what is coming.
Use today to prepare for the 10 Days of Career Services so you can get ahead and stay ahead.
