Day 6: Career Fair Cram Session

Your final full day to prepare for the Career Fair is here.  Day six is set aside for you to finish any final resume touches and get some questions answered.  We are holding Walk-In Cram Session hours today from 11-2 p.m. in 116 Ag. Hall.  Come and ask questions about the career fair, interviewing, your resume, anything.  We will answer any questions you may have.

Use today to look up some final employers on BuckyNet.  Check out the 180+ companies that are coming to the Spring Career and Internship Fair and learn some more information about the ones you want to talk to.  Like these companies on facebook or twitter and get a good grasp on the news they feel is important.

Make sure before you go to bed tonight, you have your dress clothes all ready and hanging.  Pick out the blouse or tie you want to wear and maybe do a little ironing.  If you have time, you should try and get a last minute hair cut and men, make sure you are clean shaven.  First impressions are paramount when you only get 30 seconds to make a lasting impression.

Make sure to have plenty of copies of your resume printed.  I would look down the list of companies and count how many companies you want to talk to.  I would then add five more for the amount of resumes you want to bring to the career fair.  Many things can change at the career fair and you always want to make sure you can hand your resume to as many recruiters as possible. This resume should also be on nice paper, white cardstock at the very least.

Use your time wisely today.  You don’t want to be the person that waits until the last minute because then something is bound to go wrong. Be prepared, that is the motto.
