Today is the beginning of something extraordinary. Something that will blow your mind and maybe help you a little bit. CALS Career Services is starting the “10 Days of Career Services!” It is not about CALS Career Services, but rather about you students out there looking for a job or an internship. Over the next two weeks CALS Career Services will be everywhere trying to help you get a job or an internship at the big event.
You may ask, “What is this big event where I am going to get this job or internship?” You will get this job or internship at an event so big and so huge that no student should miss it. It is the Spring Career and Internship Fair and it is happening on January 25th from 4:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. right on campus at the Kohl Center.
This big event will be surrounded with the 10 Days of Career Services that will include career services events to help you succeed at this career fair and beyond. Workshops that surround how to approach an employer at the career fair, what you need to know to get an interview, and so much more. There will also be several occasions for students to get their resumes critiqued. Walk-in BuckyNet help and an opportunity to receive FREE top-of-the-line resume paper are some of the will be some of the amazing walk-in opportunities available.
Each day of this 10 day event will also feature a headline that will be a guideline to help you get ready and succeed in your job search. Today’s headline is “Get Connected to Career Services!” Today we urge CALS students to get connected to what CALS Career Services is doing. You have already taken the first step in reading this blog, but there is more you can do.
CALS Career Services needs to reach more students and we need your help to do it. We urge you to forward this blog to as many CALS students as you know so they too can get ready for the career fair and get an internship or a job. We also urge you to push your friends to “like” the CALS Career Services – UW-Madison facebook page so we can reach even more students.
Probably the most important resource for CALS students to get connected to is BuckyNet. This is a database of jobs and internships that any CALS student can use. If you already have an account you should enter your BuckyNet page and look at all of the things going on over the next two weeks. If you can’t remember your password click “forgot password” and an email will be sent to you automatically with your password information. If you do not have an account you can email CALS Career Services at careers@cals.wisc.edu with your name, major, and your campus ID and we will create an account for you and send you your password information.
This is also the time to browse all of what our website has to offer. There are several resources available to students to use and help them succeed.
Get Connected! Your career depends on it.
