CALS Payroll has created a furlough summary report

CALS Payroll has created a new Furlough Summary Report for reporting unclassified furlough usage to Division for entry into 3270. Please complete the summary each month after receiving employees’ Furlough Time Reports, and forward the summary form to your CALS divisional payroll coordinator by the fifteenth of the month. Both groups (percent reduction and pay-as-you-go) should be on the form. (more…)

Receipt and sales credits are now posted directly to SFS

All revenue and sales credit forms and related transactions will use SFS coding to report receipts and sales credits to the Bursar’s Office and Accounting Services. The Receipt/Sales Credit Deposit form and Receipt/Sales Credit Transfer forms are available on the Cash Management’s web site along with instructions to help facilitate this process. Reps from two tax-sheltered annuity vendors will be on campus in April

State offers walk-in tax help for nonresident aliens at Villager Mall — April 3 and April 10

The Wisconsin Department of Revenue (DOR) now has the resources to provide nonresident aliens with state tax return (Form 1NPR) preparation assistance at their Village Mall location at 2300 S. Park St. They will be offering assistance from 12:00 noon to 5:00 pm on the following dates: Friday April 3 and Friday April 10. Please do NOT go to the DOR office on Rimrock Rd., unless you are unable to make it to the April 3 or April 10 walk-in dates. (more…)

New federal tax table available online

The new federal tax table will be in place for the March Unclassified calculation processed on 3/25/09, payable 4/1/09 and later. New consulting dates for Wisconsin Deferred Compensation and TSA vendors

The 2009 TSA one-on-one consulting appointment schedule now has new 2009 dates for TIAA-CREF through May, Dreyfus and T. Rowe Price. Wisconsin Deferred Compensation also has one-on-one consulting dates in April. Wisconsin Deferred Comp and Dreyfus are also offering free seminar dates in April.

Update on procedures for PayData

Effective immediately, CALS Business Services only needs one PayData with an original signature. We do not need a second copy. Also, please remember an earlier announcement (Sandy Weigt’s email dated 5/27/08) that we only need the first page of the PayData, i.e. the funding matrix and signature, for changes to “Funding string(s).” We still need the entire PayData printout for all other changes. Duplicate W-2 and 1099-MISC forms available

You can request a duplicate W-2 or 1099 MISC form for 2008 if you did not receive one. Please call 608-262-5931 for a duplicate W-2 and 608-890-1655 for a duplicate 1099-MISC form.
