Class for freshman engineers needs your ideas for service projects

Once again, the Biological Systems Engineering Department is looking for ideas for potential community service projects than can be undertaken by students in InterEgr 160, Introduction to Engineering. This course introduces students to some basic engineering principles, allows them to explore different engineering disciplines, and introduces them to problem solving through a design project — all while providing a service role. Leann Tigges named CALS Director of Faculty Development

In this newly created position, she will develop strategies to enhance faculty development in CALS and work with college, campus, state, private sector, and federal partners to position faculty members towards the most secure and brightest future. Submit proposals for Laura W. Bush Traveling Fellowship by Aug. 5

UNESCO has announced the call for applications for the Fall/Winter 2008 cycle of the U.S. National Commission for the Laura W. Bush Traveling Fellowship, which will help fund a proposal designed by the applicant—a U.S. undergraduate or graduate student between the ages of 18-25—to conduct brief work in a foreign country related to the mandate of UNESCO ­ using education, natural sciences, social and human sciences, culture, or communication and information to build strong ties among nations. Arlington dairy facility grand opening - July 30
