2008 Alumni Profiles available online

The 2008 Alumni Profiles are now available online at http://apa.wisc.edu/Alumni/alumni_profiles.html. Alumni Profiles answer some broad questions about where undergraduate alumni live, if they are employed or enrolled in educational programs, and how much they value their UW-Madison education. Implementation of Travelport Online Airfare Booking Service

In the past you have received correspondence regarding improvements to the University Travel Program. Following is some information about another component of the program, an online airfare reservation service called Travelport. The State of Wisconsin Department of Administration (DOA) contracted with Fox World Travel (FWT) for use of Travelport to book airfare for authorized business travel. This service only applies to the online booking of airfare. Departments and divisions may continue to use the travel agencies they have been using when online purchases are unsuitable. (more…)

Deadline for reporting outside activities is less than a week away

The Provost’s office has sent a “friendly reminder” to that the deadline to complete your online outside activities report (OAR) is April 30 — less than a week away. You must fill out a report even if you have no outside activities, outside income, or outside ownership interests to report. Most faculty and staff fall into this category, and completing the convenient online form will take just a minute. (more…)

Food, Farming and Community website offers resources on sustainable ag issues

LSC celebrates its birthday and a return to Hiram Smith Hall

The program, established in 1908 as the Department of Agricultural Journalism, recently moved into newly refurbished offices in Hiram Smith Hall, which was home to its publications unit for nearly two decades. To mark its centennial—and its return to a historic building—the unit hosted an open house on Sunday, April 20. The event included a formal rededication of Hiram Smith Hall, a Queen Anne-style structure built in 1892. Named for a visionary leader in the Wisconsin dairy industry, the building originally housed the nation’s first permanent dairy school, and its tenants included notable dairy scientists such as Stephen Babcock and Harry Russell.
