Effort reporting period nears close; UW issues consequences for failing to certify

As the effort certification window for the period of July-December 2007 nears its close on April 30th, the University has posted a list of ramifications for faculty and staff who fail to complete ECRT training and effort certification requirements. Partially in response to a large number of uncertified individuals from the first certification period of 2007, which closed on January 30th, consequences for not certifying revolve around refusal by the University to process proposals, execute award agreements, and establish accounts for new or continuing projects. Best Practices: Thesis Binding Costs

The cost to bind or copy theses is typically not allowable on federally sponsored projects. Many theses copies are made as personal copies for advisors, committee members, the graduate student and their family members. These copies are thus unallowable and should not be charge to a sponsored project. (more…)
