Cellular and Molecular Biology
Degrees offered: MS PhD PhD minor
The Program in Cellular & Molecular Biology (CMB) builds on the campus strengths of cooperation and collaboration across departmental boundaries; students are provided the opportunity to work with more than 170 CMB faculty trainers in over 40 different departments. This structure allows students to explore the breadth of research across campus while accessing the expertise of each individual trainer.
CMB is a Ph.D. program that emphasizes research; the curriculum includes courses that provide both breadth in cell and molecular biology, and the ability to specialize in a student\\\'s chosen area of research. The combination of coursework and research experience allows students to obtain a solid foundation in Cellular and Molecular Biology that is also tailored to the professional objectives of each student. Program benefits include a competitive stipend, tuition coverage, comprehensive benefits, and an excellent cost of living. Students are actively involved in the Program’s standing committees and all major activities including admissions, recruiting, orientation, and the fall retreat.
