Nutritional Sciences

The Interdepartmental Graduate Program in Nutritional Sciences (IGPNS)at the University of Wisconsin-Madison provides graduate education in
the interdisciplinary field of nutrition research. Both Ph.D. and M.S. degrees are offered. The IGPNS program includes faculty from Nutritional Sciences and several other departments who pursue nutrition research and serve as advisors for graduate students seeking a degree in nutrition.
The training objectives of the IGPNS are to provide students with an understanding of basic nutritional principles as they apply to both humans and animals, to provide them with current knowledge in a specific area of emphasis, to make them aware of the multidisciplinary nature of
nutrition research, and to help them attain a successful career through their studies and research. Incoming students in this graduate program have the choice to focus their studies in one of three emphasis groups: Biochemical and Molecular Nutrition, Human Nutrition, or Animal
