His most outstanding service has been in the encouragement of Boys' and Girls' club work and he has been a staunch supporter of all types of rural community service of a social character. For over 30 years he was a breeder of swine, led his county in the growing of Alfalfa and was one of the earliest members of the Farm Bureau.
