These awards support new investigators who are establishing their independence in diabetes research. Applicants can have any level of faculty appointment up through assistant professor. Awards are $120,000 per year for up to three years, plus 15% allowable indirect costs. Additionally, applicants can request up to $10,000 per year towards repayment of the principal on loans for a doctoral degree (MD, PhD, or DPM). There is not fixed limit for PI Salary.
