n 2008 the Dr A.H. Heineken Prize for Environmental Sciences will be awarded for the tenth time. The selection of the candidates by the KNAW jury is based on nominations received from other scientists or from learned institutions throughout the world. To be eligible for the Dr A.H. Heineken Prize for Environmental Sciences, nominees should be active scientists who are expected to continue their research activities for at least ten years. Their achievements in the field of environmental research are outstanding and a source of inspiration to others. The award will be presented to a single individual. No restrictions are placed on the candidate?s nationality or sex. The Academy will particularly value the nomination of women.
