 This
activity is held during the first week or two of school during the
Fall semester. The purpose is to welcome new students and returning
students into a new school year. All of the CALS student organizations,
living units, and educational departments have the opportunity to
be represented. This gives students a great opportunity to meet
with staff, deans and peers as they embark on a new year in the
University of Wisconsin Madison College of Agricultural and Life
Sciences.
 This
program is developed to educate surrounding grade school students
about agriculture and life sciences. Each club has the opportunity
to develop a short educational workshop that will be taught to visiting
grade school students. The hope is to increase public awareness
of agriculture and related fields. The event is held in the Stock
Pavilion and is generally in the month of April. 2004 photos
 The
Spring Picnic is held towards the end of the Spring semester. The
purpose is to reward and congratulate the members of the student
council for a job well done throughout the past year. It is also
a great opportunity for the out-going and in-coming officers to
meet and pass on information. All student council members are welcome
to attend. Traditionally it is held in the Short Course Dorm courtyard
and may be followed with sand volleyball.
 This
year we are going to try to put together a CALS Campus barn dance
in the Stock Pavilion. It is meant to be a social event and bring
together the students of CALS for a night of enjoyment. This year’s
outcome will reflect future social events sponsored by the CALS
Student Council.
