Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How do I get admitted to the College of Agricultural and Life Sciences (CALS)?
A: For many of our majors, once you apply to UW-Madison, you are admitted to CALS. There are a few programs that have additional admission requirements, namely Dietetics, Biological Systems Engineering, and Landscape Architecture, but you start in our college and meet the requirements for each of these majors through your pre-professional coursework.

Q: Can I visit CALS in person to talk more about my interests?
A: Yes! We offer several opportunities where you can learn more about CALS. Register today for a CALS academic information session (typically offered every other Friday), where you learn more about CALS in general. Or, register for a CALS Visit Day (typically offered four times per year), where you hear from Admissions & Financial Aid and then select up to two academic interest areas and meet with them.
