If you recruit with CALS, you'll find our students have the following skills and traits:
All CALS undergraduates are required to complete a culminating senior experience such as a capstone course, thesis, or research project that requires them to integrate and apply their course knowledge.
Two-thirds of CALS seniors have been engaged in a practicum, internship for credit, or field experience. They know how to work collaboratively with others in a demanding work setting.
Half of CALS seniors have worked on a research project with a faculty member outside of course or program requirements in which they use laboratory skills to answer scientific questions.
CALS is home to about 35 student organizations that develop students' professional and interpersonal skills. Each department sponsors an organization related to its field of study, which helps students grow their passion for their discipline.
Many students are involved in the college's extensive student leadership program. They apply the skills they have gained through various experiences to influence positive change.
Seventy percent of CALS seniors report they have participated in community service or volunteer work. They are committed to making a difference in their communities.
