What is eRecruiting?
eRecruiting is an online system that allows you to search for jobs and internships and allows employers who are interested in CALS students to view your resume.
By signing up, you'll receive the following benefits:
- search job and internship listings directed specifically at CALS students
- participate in on-campus interviews
- upload your resume so employers who are specifically seeking CALS students can contact you directly about position openings
- access eRecruiting's national database with hundreds of position listings from employers across the U.S.
- use the system after you graduate, with no additional fee
Data from the 2005-2006 CALS graduates indicates students who register with eRecruiting are more likely than those who do not to have fulltime employment when they graduate. Students who register with eRecruiting are also more likely than those who do not to be working in a field related to their undergraduate field of study. In addition, the average income of students registered with eRecruiting was over $5000 per year higher than those who were not registered with eRecruiting.
How can I sign up for eRecruiting?
- Prepare a resume. Use our online resume information and tutorial, and sign up for an individual resume critique. You could also attend a resume workshop if one fits your timeframe.
- Stop by Career Services at 116 Agriculture Hall to complete the registration form and pay the one-time $15.00 fee.
- Post your resume on eRecruiting.
How can I maximize my effectiveness with eRecruiting?
- Post a resume. The average student registered with eRecruiting has over 8 companies view their resume. If you do not post a resume, you are at a large disadvantage.
- Regularly view job/internship postings. New openings are posted almost everyday. Even if you're not seeking a job or internship right now, you should get a feel for what's out there.
- Keep your resume and profile current. Update your resume as you gain more experience and update your profile anytime you move, change phone numbers, change majors, etc. You want employers to see your most recent experiences and know about your latest skills, so update you resume. You also want employers to be able to reach you when they try to contact you, so keep your address, phone number, and email address current.
