Student Services Overview

How We Can Help

Here at Career Services we offer the services and resources to explore possible academic majors and careers. We also provide assistance in assessing interests, values and skills and offer a variety of tips and tools to help you research careers (DOC), develop your resume (DOC), prepare for interviews (DOC) and find internships.

Stop by the Career Services office in 116 Agriculture Hall and browse through:

  • Literature from over 100 companies
  • Career planning videos
  • Job listing from many sources including state and federal government and UW positions
  • Information on our on-line eRecruiting resume system

Register with Career Services

Follow these simple steps to register with Career Services:

  1. Prepare a resume. Our office has hand-outs on resume writing and advisors to help develop and critique your resume. You may contact an advisor at career@cals.wisc.edu. Attend a workshop to learn about resume writing, design and layout.
  2. Stop by Career Services at 116 Agriculture Hall to complete the registration form (DOC) and pay the "one-time" $15.00 fee. You will then be able to post your resume on-line using our eRecruiting system.

Attention International Students: Feedback from our international students strongly suggests that our staff inform you prior to paying the CALS Career Services registration fee that there are very limited interviewing opportunities in most disciplines for graduating students who do not have work authorization in the US as a US citizen or permanent resident.
