Checklist for Admissions
College of Agricultural and Life Sciences, UW-Madison
-
Take the ACT or SAT - If you have not already
taken the ACT or SAT during the spring
of your junior year, you should take it as soon as you can
this fall.
-
Come for a Visit - Our college offers
several visit day opportunities through out the
year. Visit days give you an opportunity to meet faculty
advisors, current students, and admissions staff. You will
also tour the campus, including a visit to a dorm room.
-
Apply - Applications are available
from your Guidance Counselors office or call our
Office of Admissions (608) 262-3961. Applications are
accepted starting September 15. The final deadline
for applying is in February 1.
(see the UW-Madison Admissions page
for official deadline information:
http://jumpgate.acadsvcs.wisc.edu/admissions/dates.html.)
Most admissions decisions
are
made on a rolling basis. It usually takes 6-8 weeks to
receive notification of your status, after all required
application materials are received.
-
Financial Aid - be sure to complete
the FAFSA application (applications will be available
in your guidance counselors office after January 1).
It is best to complete the application soon after the first
of the year so that you can be considered for the most
amount of aid that you may be eligible to receive.
-
Scholarship application - Complete
a CALS scholarship application and return it to our office
by January 15. Applications are available at
visit days and will automatically be sent to you after
you apply to UW-Madison, College of Agricultural and
Life Sciences.

Note: even if you are undecided about your major but
you are interested in our college be sure to indicate
College of Ag & Life Sciences on the admissions
application where it requests school or college you
wish to enter. We will then send you a scholarship
application.
-

the University, the housing office will send
you a
