MANRRS is a national society organized for charitable, educational, and scientific purposes. This student organization is open to all undergraduate and graduate students interested in: increasing the number of students studying the agricultural sciences and related fields; developing leadership qualities; encouraging scholarly achievement, advancement and excellence among members; aiding in the recruitment and placement of underrepresented minorities in professional positions; and by encouraging research and its dissemination by undergraduate and graduate students and professionals.

The CALS chapter of MANRRS has sponsored social and professional activities, as well as seminars to encourage interaction among students, faculty and professionals. Proceeds from various activities in the past have been used for scholarships, social activities, and travel expenses to national conventions. For more information on MANRRS, contact the CALS assistant dean for minority affairs at asa@cals.wisc.edu or visit the national MANRRS website.
