General Rules

  • All contestants report to the lobby of the Dairy Cattle Center.
  • Participants will lead cattle for the Dairy Cattle Judging Contest. A preliminary evaluation of their showing skills will be made in the Dairy Cattle Arena prior to the cattle judging contest. Evaluation will continue throughout the cattle judging. Appropriate certificates of award will be made to outstanding contestants.
  • The purpose of this contest is to create more interest in, and a better knowledge of, showing dairy cattle. It also provides judging contestants a better opportunity to see the cattle presented properly. The scorecard for the Dairy Cattle Showing Contest is included below.
  • Each contestant will be allowed a minimum of 15 minutes to display his/her showing skills, depending on the number of entrants. Following the completion of the cattle judging contest competition, top finalists in showing will be called to the ring for an overall placing. Note that appearance and attitude of the Exhibitor represents 20 points on the scorecard. Preferred attire is white pants or skirt, white shirt or blouse, tie or neck scarf and FFA jacket.
