Curriculum Sheets and 4 Year Plans

“Curriculum sheets” contain the requirements for your degree and major. Although the faculty change the requirements from time to time, your requirements will remain the same as when you officially declared your major. CALS freshmen make this declaration at the summer SOAR program, and other students make this declaration at the time they transfer into the College. If you enroll in the College and at a later date transfer to a different major, your requirements are those in effect at the time you transfer to your new major. However, you may elect to follow the new set of requirements.

The “Four-Year Plan” is a road map, prepared by the faculty in your major, showing a series of courses that will meet your degree and major requirements. This plan is updated annually to reflect any changes in the curriculum requirements. You need to “customize” your Four-Year Plan to fit your starting point in mathematics, chemistry or other subjects. You should choose electives that will broaden your view of the world. The Four-Year Plan will help you in sequencing your pre-requisite courses and requirements. When you meet with your advisor, take a copy of your Four-Year Plan with the next two or three semesters filled in.

CALS students must also meet the written and oral communication requirements set by the College. These are in addition to the University's general requirements.
