Welcome to the CALS Study Abroad Scrapbook!

As you look through these pictures, we encourage you to imagine yourself in a tropical rainforest in Costa Rica, touring castles in France, studying on a beach in Trinidad, or riding a commuter boat to the banks of Thammasat University - just as we have done!

This scrapbook contains pictures of some of the places we visited while participating in CALS study abroad programs. Each of us thinks our Study Abroad experience was one of the most interesting, educational, and fun experiences of our undergraduate education! And, we encourage you to experience this unique learning opportunity. You, too, can study abroad; but you need to begin planning now.

Like many other students, studying abroad was not a priority for us when we began as freshmen. However, we fortunately heard about the CALS programs early and started checking them out. One of the first things we discovered was that studying abroad is affordable. The costs are about the same or only slightly more than studying in Madison. We were also surprised by the the varitety of programs offered by CALS. Some of the programs are one or two month summer programs, others last for a semester or full academic year and still others have you attending seminars during Fall semester with a two week study tour during winter break. We think there is a program that is just right for you, but it is important that you start now. Don't delay!
