International Summer Program

Konkuk University in Seoul, Korea

The International Summer Program at Konkuk University provides students with a great opportunity to learn about and experience Korea and its culture.  The program includes special activities such as field trips, cultural workshops, language programs, and other events.  These activities allow students to explore and learn about Korea, its people and its culture as well as meet students from other countries also participating in the program.

  • The above class schedule is tentative and subject to change depending upon Konkuk University's circumstances.
  • Students should take two courses (one course per session).
  • Cultural Workshop is mandatory and includes such activities as pottery making, Taekwondo, fork village visits, Kimchi and other traditional food making, and DMZ tour.

Students will be responsible for purchasing round-trip airline ticket to Seoul.

Housing
All summer participants will be placed in a double occupancy room in the International Guest House and/or KU:L House on campus.  These ultra modern facilities are located in the heart of Konkuk University and overlook the Il-gam Lake.  Each room is furnished with beds and mattresses, desks, chairs, study lamps, wardrobe, refrigerator, TV, telephone, Ethernet connection and private bath.  Communal facilities include kitchen, lounge, computer room, laundry room , vending machines.  Students may purchase meal coupons to eat at the student cafeteria located in the Student Union Hall near the International Guest House or they can prepare their own food in the communal kitchen. 
 
Field Trip
Summer program students have the option of participating in a three-day field trip before the start of the summer program to such historical places as Gyeongju and Andong.
