Kathryn VandenBosch is the thirteenth Dean of the College of Agricultural and Life Sciences. She comes to Wisconsin from the University of Minnesota, where she was Professor and Head of the Department of Plant Biology and served as interim dean of the College of Food, Agricultural and Natural Resource Sciences. Her research focuses on the genetics of plant-microbe interactions and nitrogen fixation in legumes. Prior to her tenure at the University of Minnesota, she was a member of the faculty at Texas A&M University. She earned M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in botany from the University of Massachusetts Amherst and did postdoctoral work at both UW-Madison and the John Innes Institute in Great Britain.
