Please Peruse Our Perennials!

daylilly The daylily (Hemerocallis ssp.) is one of the oldest garden plants. The first report of daylilies traces back to 2697 B.C., in China. The daylilies chosen for our display garden typify the range in flower color, size, and habit of the over 40,000 different varieties registered with the American hemerocallis society. The different types include many of the progenitor species, the earliest cultivated varieties, and the most recent and spectacular releases.

Not all grasses are for lawns. The perennial garden contains a collection of over 40 different cultivars of grass and clump bamboo plants. Clump bamboos will are not invasive and are very beautiful in the landscape year around.  We received a generous donation from a grower of perennials in the State of Washington and Maine which has allowed us to expand our collection from 5 to the 38 different grass you will see as you tour our garden

Wanderers welcome! Scattered throughout our gardens you will find other perennials that provide four-season appeal for the mixed garden border. Each is labeled and is described in our self-guided tour booklet. Please feel free to wander the garden paths, sit under our new gazebo with a cool drink, and enjoy all of the perennials we have on display.
